We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join our tech team. The individual will be an integral part of the development and testing team, closely working with and supporting the activities of the principal engineers, developers, and product testers for new application deployment and sustained engineering of existing applications. They will participate and be responsible for implementation and support of development systems, production systems at our data centres, including all network- and systems-related infrastructure components.
Description of Services to be Rendered
Responsibilities:
- Installs, maintains, and supports Server based Operating Systems
- Installs and maintains all software and hardware for network servers and clients
- Monitors and evaluates various network operating systems and applications
- Analyses, troubleshoots, and resolves LAN and WAN hardware and software problems
- Establishes user security for access to LAN/WAN
- Recommends and implements LAN/WAN policies and standards, and ensures adherence to security procedures
- Trains users on LAN/WAN operations and procedures
- Maintains contact with vendors or outside organizations in the maintenance, service, and/or purchase of LAN/WAN hardware, software, and services
- Prepares and maintains technical systems documentation
Requirements:
- HP ProCurve or Cisco experience essential
- Tertiary education
- 3 years' experience in the maintenance of various server systems including a minimum of two years experience in network systems (LAN/WAN) on a large network.
